Basildon Philatelic Society will be celebrating its 40th anniversary by hosting Stamp Essex 2008, incorporating Spring BasPex, on Saturday 26 April at the James Hornsby High School. Doors will open to the public at 10.00 am and close at 4.00 pm.

The event will be a combined stamp fair and exhibition with space available for more than a dozen dealers. Dealers wishing to participate should contact the Fair Organizer by email as soon as possible to reserve a place.

The exhibition will include the Association of Essex Philatelic Societies spring competitions, alongside displays from the members of Basildon Philatelic Society. The Servery will provide snacks and light refreshments throughout the day and has ample seating.

The venue is close to the junction of the A176 and A127, is within easy reach of the M25 and has a spacious car-park. A map and driving directions can be obtained from Microsoft Live Search. The Town Centre is 1.75 miles (2.8 km) away by bus, services 104 (Crown Coaches) and 551 (First) stop outside the school. Basildon rail station is adjacent to the bus station and has frequent c2c services from London Fenchurch Street, Tilbury and Southend-on-Sea.

For anyone travelling from further afield the nearest hotel is the Campanile, 1 mile (1.6 km) away in Miles Gray Road.
