The Association of Essex Philatelic Societies hosted the Fifth National Stamp Exhibition at the Towngate Theatre and adjacent BasCentre in Basildon Town Centre on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November 2004.

Basildon Philatelic Society produced its own souvenir cover which was sold alongside a range of official souvenirs commissioned by the AEPS.
